Installation & replacement

Garage Door Installation in New Jersey

We measure the opening, build the door to it, and fit it with new track, springs and hardware — with the door and the labour quoted as separate lines, so you can see both.

What a garage door installation includes

A replacement is a whole system, not a panel swap. Reusing tired track and twenty-year-old springs under a new door is how a new door starts sounding like the old one inside a year.

The door itself

Sections, insulation, finish, hardware style and any glass you configure — steel, aluminium-composite or full-view aluminium, built to the size of your opening.

Track and hardware

The track system that suits your headroom and backroom, with new brackets, hinges, rollers and bearings rather than the tired parts off the old door.

Springs sized to the door

A new door weighs what it weighs. Springs are sized to that weight so the door balances and the opener is not dragging it up — this is what makes a door feel light by hand.

Weather seal

A new bottom seal, and perimeter stop moulding where your quote includes it, so the new door actually closes against something.

An opener, if you want one

Opener, remotes, wall control and keypad, plus the photo-eye safety sensors mounted and aligned at the bottom of the tracks.

The labour, itemised

Fitting, balancing, the auto-reverse safety test, and a walk-through of how the door and the opener work before we leave. Removal of the old door is quoted with the job — ask for it when you request your quote.

Field measurement is charged and credited toward your order. Installation is available and quoted separately from the door.

Garage door opener installation

An opener is the part of the door people actually touch every day, so it is worth getting right. We install openers on new doors and on doors that are staying, set the travel limits and force to the weight of your door, mount and align the photo-eye safety sensors at the bottom of the tracks, and pair the remotes, wall control and keypad before we leave.

If an existing opener is the problem rather than the door — it hums, clicks, runs but will not close, or the remotes have stopped reaching — that is a repair, and it is covered on the garage door repair page.

One honest limit. Connecting an opener to an existing ceiling receptacle is one thing; new wiring, a new circuit or a new receptacle is electrical work for a licensed electrician in New Jersey. If your garage needs that, we tell you when we quote, not on installation day.

Doors we install

Three lines, all in our own catalog — so the door on the quote is a door we can price, order and get parts for later.

Design yours first if you like: every model above configures panel design, colour, windows and hardware on its own product page, and the home visualizer puts the result on a photo of your house next to a matching entry door.

How the installation runs

  1. Measurements

Send the width and height of the finished opening, the headroom, backroom and sideroom — five numbers. Or book a field measurement, which is charged and credited toward your order.

  2. Choose the door

Configure it online or in the showroom: line, size, panel design, colour, window layout and hardware. You can see it on a photo of your own house before you commit.

  3. Written quote

The door and the installation are quoted separately, so nothing is hidden inside one number. Lead time is confirmed in writing with the quote, because it depends on the line and the finish.

  4. Installation day

Old door and track out, new door, track, springs and hardware in, opener set and tested, packaging cleared out of the garage, and the auto-reverse checked in front of you.

Measure before you choose

Five numbers decide which doors are even on the table: the width and height of the finished opening at their widest and tallest points, the headroom between the top of the opening and the ceiling, the backroom from the opening to the back wall, and the sideroom on each side of the opening.

Headroom is the one that surprises people: a low-headroom track kit exists for tight garages, but it has to be quoted as part of the door rather than discovered on installation day. Send us the five numbers with a photo of the opening from inside the garage and we can quote from them.

Not sure? Book a field measurement — it is charged, and credited toward your order when you buy.

Installation questions

Can I keep my existing opener when the door is replaced?

Often, yes — if the opener is in good health and suits the weight of the new door. An insulated steel door can weigh more than the thin uninsulated door it replaces, so after the new door is hung we re-set the travel limits and force, and re-test the safety reverse. If the opener is failing or the sensors are obsolete, we will tell you before installation day rather than after.

Do you take the old door away?

Removal and disposal of the old door and track are quoted with the job. Ask for it when you request your quote and it appears as its own line, so you can see exactly what it costs rather than finding it folded into the price.

What sizes do you install?

Single and double openings both. The common sizes are configurable straight from the product pages, and if your opening is not a standard size, send the measurements — we will check the size range of the line you like and tell you what is available before you choose a design.

How long does it take from order to installation?

That depends on the line, the size and the finish, so we confirm your lead time in writing with the quote instead of publishing an average here. Once the door is with us, most standard replacements are a single visit.

Can I see the door on my house before I order?

Yes. Upload a photo of your home to the visualizer and drop the door onto it, or configure the door panel by panel in the garage door builder. Colour, window layout and panel design all change live, and you can pair the garage door with a matching entry door in the same view.

Is financing available on a new door and opener?

Yes, for qualified customers, through Synchrony — from no interest if paid in full within six months to longer fixed reduced-APR plans. Financing is subject to credit approval, and the plan available to you is confirmed with your quote.

Do you install in my town?

Our area runs from Toms River north through New Jersey, into New York City and Long Island, and across into parts of Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Tell us where the garage is and we will confirm scheduling for your town.
